Recently picked up a Case texas jack amber bone in CV based on positive forum feedback. It feels really good in the hand and was only ~45 w/ shipping.

This is slightly out of your budget, but the GEC Toothpick is a great choice. REally top shelf.

A full size Case Trapper is essential to any collection. CV steel looks nice and worn after about 3 months of pocket time.
 
I agree with Mastiff-- Queen, D2 steel, anything with the gorgeous amber carved stag bone handle material. Can usually be had for under $60, I'm partial to the copperhead pattern.
 
A Case Barlow. It has been my EDC for many many years.

Very traditional, old American design knife. It is said the George Washington carried one.
