Some smoked pork for all the HOGS!!

I really like your smoker & thanks for the info! Think I'll be makin' one of these in the next couple weeks!

Thought I'd bump this one to the top....smoked another shoulder today. Actually started it around midnight last night and it finished up a hour or so ago. The pics are pretty much the same, so no new ones.

Any Hogs give this setup a try from the last post? Just curious.

Just saw this post- thanks for the inspiration!

Curious about the amount of wood you use and if you have to continue to use more?

No orange or blue handled RMD Thrill? I know you got 'em! That is some good looking pulled pork, love that stuff.

Dude, I saw the date 4/17 and my heart sunk, I thought I fell into a time warp.
That scared the $#!t out of me... I'm OK now.
Have you tried soaking your meat in a brine of salt, sugar and water before smoking?
You can add other ingredients as well but I like to keep the flavor simple.

heheh... I just went to the local pit BBQ place and got me a pulled pork sandwich. I was inspired by this post. :D

Ran that same setup for about 3yrs. I'm getting a medium green egg. Tired of lifting the top pot and straining my lower back! Steel wood chunk box with waterlogged pecan or apple wood chunks.

Nice work. Love the flower pot smoker.

Pork Shoulders (Butts) are my favorite to BBQ. The best payoff for a long cook.

I have a Big Steel Keg that I grill them on nice and low, 225F for around 18-20hrs.

Building one tomorrow. Gonna brine the butt in sugar, VSOP and salt. Start cooking at ~ 6:00a.m. on Wed. and folks are showing up around 5:00 p.m. at my bar to check it out. Also doing a dozen ears of "hot corn" just for fun - par boiled in sugared water with some Zatarins crab boil and smoked for the last hour.

Can't wait. Will let you know how it turns out.

i know who smokes da good pok around des parts
