Some stuff for Blade

ban, anything handle-wise you came back with that made you say "you know, this would look even more kick ass than red/black or orange/black on that clip point BT6 i'm working on...."

I picked up a set of orange glow in the dark burlap scales from Shadetree. Also picked up some pretty cool machined textured micarta. Also, got a few sets of ironwood scales. All of above are smaller scales for BT4 sized handles. Also, got some really cool lightening strike carbon fiber. I hate to work with carbon fiber and g10 but had to pick up the lightening strike because it looked so darn classy. They are thinner 1/8 scales so I will probably use them on smaller knives with thicker liners. Might have to do a Pikal with some very soon.

sounds cool. maybe on the next one down the road, after the 6.....
your forum is bad for my bank account, ban.

And he thanks You! It was great to see you, your beautiful companion as well as some examples of your work.

That thin slicer was such a temptation. . .

Thanks again for stopping to put a face to the name.

That sounds awesome, looking forward to seeing that. I've only seen the green gitd yarn, so seeing the orange gitd handles will be interesting.

Ban, I've always liked this particular modified Santoku, do think the blunter tip makes a big difference in the kitchen?

Depends on how you use the knife. For the most part I don't think there will be much of a difference even if you did use the tip.

Yeah, I think there's enough of a tip even on those to do tip-oriented work. If I really need to use a point for some reason, I go to something smaller like a paring knife or shorter for greater control of the tip. I think I prefer the snubbed version aesthetically....

Yeah, aesthetically I like both, but I think the snubbed one looks a little cooler. Just didn't want to sacrifice performance for looks on a kitchen duty knife. I think I'll be good with the snub nose :)
