Off Topic ....some time away... !

Another Fun adventure, thanks for taking us along to enjoy the beauty of your outback.

Thanks all. We enjoyed it (despite the water) and if I am being honest, we pressed ahead with it because *I* needed it and I think my old friend saw that. The few days away have helped me limp into the finish line this year. We have some stuff planned now for next year (at least a week long trip into the west but we also committed to more "weekend" trips like this one.

Damn, Andy, when you told me you'd post pics of your fishing trip, I had a chartered boat and blue seas in mind! I guess SoCal has spoiled me a bit! That's one helluva trip, and the playfully irreverent write-up made what must of been an occasionally tough at times pretty funny. Thanks for posting, and glad to hear that the time out recharged your batteries! Be well

................given my irrational fear of sharks (not crocs which have MUCH more chance of taking me as a meal) there is little chance I would willingly head out to sea.... ;) :D

you’d be in a boat, brother! With beer, whiskey, a skipper, sonar…. You need a SoCal fishing trip 👍🏼

Yeah, the whole time looking at your pics, I was wondering, “where are the crocs…”.

...... yeah..... that had all that in Jaws as well and see how that ended up !!! I remember the first time I flew into LA (it was from Tokyo) looking down as we came in across the water, getting lower....wondering just how many Great White Guppies were there just waiting to have off with my legs !!!

Looks like you made the best of less than ideal weather! But a bad day fishing is still a damn good day! Thanks for sharing.

Nice trip Andy! Glad to see your able to disconnect every once in a while and enjoy the great outdoors!

there are lots, of course. Camping on the beach one time, we actually saw a juvenile Great White breach—it was about 8 or 9 feet in length. The Rangers closed the beach—we were camping with our Cub Scouts, so it was for the best.

But you don’t have to worry about that—we’ll get a bigger boat!

Finally. (Been busy with...life.) Finally - Get to thank you for your terrific photography, and accompanying text. Miss the adventures I had when much younger, and a bit (lot) more spry.

Still diligent with my ASH1 searching, and attempted accumulation. Although much sparser hunting than in years past.

Be well, Sir. Have A Very Merry Christmas.

Man you got the life reminds me of the old days when my old 77 CJ7 with the V8 would run down those roads like that, sometimes sideways.😄 Alot of fun Thanks for taking me back.

Andy, are you still taking good care of my grail?
........ I most certainly am. It was in fact in my truck on this trip (as it is on most) in an elof_alv elof_alv sheath.

Thanks all, the last couple of years of work and COVID insanity have curbed my time away, next year I am planning of catching up !

I thought I had shipped it to you with a sheath
..... you did. My mate elof made me a couple of leather sheaths for both fat and thin ASH1s and they tend to cycle through these when I am travelling. I tend to use the kydex ones when I am saving weight in my pack.
