Hi,

Been envying the beautiful shots from diverse northern american wilderness you guys post here! I thought I'd share some shots I took couple summers back.

It's from pienen karhun kierros (small bear's circle), a shorter 'dayhike long' trekking route of the popular karhun kierros (bear's circle) that takes about three to five days to walk depending on your pace. It's kind of tourist infested route, so it's best to take it early in the morning when the sheeple are sleeping! :D

Sorry for them being so small, I would post bigger ones but Im currently not at my own computer. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks!
I wish I could have checked that cabin, but it seemed to be available only by boat and who knows if it's private anyway. Charming place to have a cabin.

Thanks again!

Absolutely! What part of the country is this area located in? largest city in the area?

Not any major cities around (but then again, all cities are quite small here). That place is near Ruka, I guess the nearest city is Kuusamo. Lot's of summers spent around there with family. It's quite far to the north-east.

Sweet pictures thanks for posting. Land of my ancestors, I'd love to visit Scandinavia. Looks like N. Minnesota.

Thanks for posting those pics - absolutely beautiful! My wife and son recently got their Finnish citizenship so we'll have to visit soon :D

WOW, It's beautiful there! Thanks for sharing the pics, I'd like to go there some day.

Very nice photos! Looks a lot like northern Minnesota, which is probably why so many Finns moved there. :D

Thanks all again, Im glad you enjoy them!

I have to put some winter shots on display soon. :)

Thanks, A.L. We had some older friends from North Karelia (same general area?) that left there, as kids, after the Winter War of 39'. They had lots of beautiful photos and great memories of the Karelia that they shared with us often over the years. :)

Karelia is generally much more to the south, I guess depending on what part of karelia we are talking about too. The place at the photos is nearing to arctic circle. The winter shot is from around where I live, from a small dam that does that "smoke".

Thanks for posting those pics - absolutely beautiful! My wife and son recently got their Finnish citizenship so we'll have to visit soon :D

Hey, beers on me. :D
