2) Unique, brand new never used or, carried custom Buffalo Blade by Tom Barminski. This is a very, very high performance cutting tool. It is made of one of the rarest steels: Latrobe's PGK Vanadium, Tungsten High carbon tool steel hardened to Rc 61-62! Do a research on the web and I doubt you will find another knife made of this steel. It is that rare!
The blade is highly polished - yet it exhibits an "orange peel" type look to the smoothly finished blade. It is double-drawn, stress relieved and cryogenically treated. What you see in the finished blade are Vanadium Carbides which have a hardness of about 85 Rockwell, which gives this" orange peel" look. There is a very small stain on the left side of the blade which is barely visible. This high concentration of Vanadium Carbides "sprinkled" throughout the blade (which has an overall blade hardness of Rockwell 61 -62) makes for a very wear resistant blade.
Front of blade is etched "Buffalo Blade Hand Made USA".
Back of the blade has two stars etched in, representing Latrobe's PGK tool steel.
Latrobe Steel Company "PGK" Vanadium, Tungsten Tool Steel chemical composition:
Carbon 1.15 %
Chromium 8.50
Vanadium 1.95

It comes with a heavy duty leather sheath. A welt has been sewn into the seam of the sheath to prevent the knife from cutting the stitching when it is drawn.
