Here's some picks straight from War 2008.

FYI, you know you're getting close to the Wilderness Learning Center when you pass Dick's

I arrived on Saturday morning, in time for a wilderness wedding, where the ceremonies were presided over by Moderator Kevin Estela. Though Kevin's waving a large knife this was by no means a "Machete Wedding".

Appropriately though the wedding cake was indeed cut by machete

Lots of interesting kit everywhere. I really liked this folding wood stove, weighs very little and works very well.

Lots of happy dogs did lots of cavorting.

Some afternoon knife throwing

A stunning misty Sunday morning, now that's my idea of going to church

Aggie and I took a short walk to the Canadian border, in case you've never been to Canada it looks like this

We found tons of really tasty blackberries, which hopefully were on our side of the border, or we owe Canada for a pint or two of berries.

Thank you Marty and Aggie for a really great time.

Oh yeah almost forgot this one of Marty trying to steal a winning ticket at the give-away.

That looks like a tonne of fun and great pictures. Unfortunately, you do owe us a pint of berries. Even if it was on your side of the line, you see this was part of the NAFTA deal. We give you oil and you give us berries plus shiny beads.... :) :) :)

Preacher Kevin just doesn't sound right:D Looks like you guys had a great time...one of these years we'll make a trip up there! You gotta love the camaraderie and fellowship along with a whole lot of sharing and learning!

Man I still can't believe I missed this. The whole long weekend off and I didn't do a thing.

Excellent pics, I am sure it was a blast!

great pics man... definately looks like my kind of weekend...:D

those wedding pics are classic...:) love that misty morning shot too..

Hey simon, do you own any shoes???? I bet you dont go into mcdonalds that much huh?:D

hey J,
yep i own shoes, but they just sat next to my tarp all weekend...it felt nice not having to put anything on to go to a store or anything.

nope i don't go to mcdonalds all that much either...

Damn Simon, no tent JUST A TARP:eek:. I hope you had a mosquito net, I think Marty breeds those things to be as viscious as possible.

i didn't bring a mosquito net, but luckily big john volunteered one.

i still got chewed up the first night, but set up properly on saturday once it was light out and had no problems after that (except for freezing saturday night)

sunday night i borrowed a poncho liner from kevin and that was the best nights sleep i had all weekend.

i have a few things on my list that i need to buy now...

Yeah I remember waking up in the morning and there would be about 30 lil bastid mosquitos buzzing around the netting of my hammock. I felt trapped.

It did get quite cold at might also. Kevin should have let you use the shelter we built, I bet ya that thing would of kept you warm.
