I just want to describe an ideal EDC folder.
Regular drop/straight/clip point blade with some belly, not a tanto. Full flat grind, no coating, no serrations. Blade cutting lenght 3.5" or around, maybe 3" or 4". Nice stainless supersteel, VG10, s35vn or whatever. Not hugely thick stock.
Grippy thin G10 on handles. Similar to Emerson's or Cold Steel's in grippiness. Handle is somewhat contoured but nothing fancy. Think about Kershaw Skyline or Emerson CQC7 or Benchmade Stryker. In hammer grip the finger side (downside of handle) has at least 4" for gripping if need be. No steps before blade in handles where you loose handle grip length -- not like in CQC8 or CS Voyager. Handle length is 4-5".
No need for glass breaker.
There is only one steel or titanium liner. Think about lightweight Skyline or even better Spyderco Military.
Lock might be a liner lock or Axis or backlock of some sort. Opening mechanism Spyderco hole or studs/tablet -- and I image (optionally) an Emerson wave, so tip-up carry, might be in deep-carry clip.
No need for assisted or auto opening.
Overall:
I looked at Kershaw Piston the other day, it comes close.
I might be asking for too much.

Overall:
- lightweight;
- grippy G10 handle;
- Emerson wave on a regular FFG stainless non-coated non-serrated blade.
