Hey guys, figured I'd post some of my work here now that I've found out how to post pictures :D. I am a hobbyist from Quebec, Canada. I started in 2017. I enjoy making most of my equipment. I made my propane forge and burner, my belt grinder, I modified an enamel kiln with a PID and T/C and I'm gearing up for wood stabilizing. I also picked Rockwell tester on the way...

So here's some of my work, I welcome critiques and thoughts! Thanks

This one is a 5.5" blade petty in 26c3 tested at 63/64hrc with a mustard patina, micarta and black walnut handle.

This one was an attempt at a bladesports knife. Blade is 9" of 1/4" thick 80CrV2. It was fun to make, but the design could use some improvements.

This one I was particularly proud of. Around 7.5" W2 blade with an obvious hamon. Handle is 416 SS and black walnut.

God, the SS bolster pair, jesus. Any good reference videos displaying how to do them? Also new :)

First let me say your fit and finish look real good. Your knives have great eye appeal. Your mustard finish looks great as does your hamon. I like that you have eliminated most of the sharp edges on your grips. I can't comment on the weight or balance without holding the knives.

The Micarta bolsters on the first knife look like there is open pores in it. You might consider applying a coat of CA glue or epoxy to seal it up.
The copper bolsters looks real good but If the copper is in direct contact with steel, acidic foods will cause galvanic corrosion.
Overall I'd say you are doing real good.

OMG. And you have been holding back on us?? between the patina and ss bolsters, too much to talk about. Incredible

I rough them out with files and lap the facets with sand paper on a granite slab. It's quite time consuming but, like I said, this is a hobby so I don't mind.

Thank you very much!
The micarta was left porous on purpose to promote better grip when wet. Not sure how big a difference it makes though. I also had a discussion with the customer about the copper bolster. It was decided to leave it bare and let it patina. Now that you mention it I'm curious to see how it changed. It's been a year or so...

Thanks a lot sir!

Great work! You have shown more of your work then many here.

Beautiful work man!!! I like those stainless bolsters you did too. I might have to steel that Design from you;)
