Came across a pair of these while cleaning out my grandmother's tool shed. Some sort of machete/sickle/brush cutter type thing I'm not really sure. It's kind of concave on one side and flat on the other. No markings on it whatsoever and the grind marks are pretty ugly, my guess would be something locally made. Hell, knowing my grandfather it could be a lawn mower blade that he stuck a handle on. Cuts good though. Anybody know what it's called? I've found similar things but nothing exact.

Those look like billhooks to me. One home made and the other wood handled one commercially made. I like the home made one better.

The one on top used to have a wood handle, which looked to be held on with nails, but it was completely destroyed so I replaced it with the cord, working on a new handle for it though. The tang is also shorter on the top one by like 6 inches. I do have a feeling that the top one is home made, the bottom one used to be pained red and probably is store bought, although it's very likely that both were found on the side of the road.
