Someone talk me into or out of buying a Strider SNG..

If you like the knife then so be it. Those ergos really work for some folks despite the puny cutting edge to overall length ratio. For me the bigger issue is the way the lock bar cutout catches on my pocket, pretty awful design. Also the lanyard hole in the edge path makes zero sense. But you can like the product even if the maker is a sleaze (i.e. basically any Hollywood product you might enjoy!). You can also choose to boycott any brand you like for whatever reason you like. I just don't see the point of insulting folks who happen to like the product. Just my two cents. I own one sng, it's okay, rarely gets carried, I keep it around just because I feel that I 'should' own it as someone who likes to own examples of as many of the big production names as I can manage.

I guess I still didn't directly respond to the OP. I would say if you want one then buy one, but try for a user at a nice discount on the forum, they pop up pretty frequently. But there are much better knives you can get for much less money IMO. So many interesting CRKs over in that sub-forum, I'd much rather spend my money over there :)

"strider" built his entire business on a lie. He would not have gotten the press he had, collaborations with Buck, nor much else if he wasn't doing the Stolen Valor scam to build his reputation.

To call others names and accuse them of things in defense of said person is not right.

I couldn’t care less about the knife… it’s the person making it that everyone is complaining about. We went through all this with the Hoback China scandal. If someone lies or misrepresents who they are, don’t act surprised when people decide not to buy the product.

Fun fact for everyone, originally Indy was supposed to engage in a big fight with Swordy McSworderson, but a lot of the crew, including Harrison Ford, had dysentery, so he suggested to Spielberg that he just shoot the guy and move on. I suggest we all do the same for this marzrock troll, just be done with him and move on

Got that new ish budget Shirogorov that came out late last year, the Quantum Ursus NL, just to give it a try. Noticed today that Recon1 actually had them in stock for $625. Supposed to be here Monday. Still may give Strider a try at some point down the road though given the right deal..
