Something a bit different

Look at the Spyderco Leafstorm. It's also quite unique. About $50 out of your budget but still food for thought.

I don't know if it looks "cool" enough but there's nothing more fun to play with (well, maybe a few things) than a RAM. I was pleasantly surprised by how cool my Kopa was too.

Nagara is beautiful indeed, I like mine, but you will notice that the anodized coating on the handle will quickly begin to scratch, hence it will lose some splendor.

Why not a Spyderco Centofante 3? In your budget, and a very elegant slicer.

Otherwise, not a one-hand knife but the french Nontron is really quite special, and ancient design that's still being made - a knife with history, and definitely cool/unique. A great European-style companion knife.

Kershaw 1660G10 Leek. Has S30V steel and G10 handles. If this isn't aesthetically pleasing, then no knife will ever be enough for you.

^ or for extra psychedelic oomph, get the rainbow leek. That's one sure fire conversation starter of a knife.

while we're throwing leeks out there im gonna throw out a damascus leek

NOW we're getting on the right track. But I already have a Rainbow Groove and a Damascus Skyline.

This is the kind of stuff I'm thinking of, I guess I was just hoping for somebody to come up with something obscure that I didn't already know about.

Fluorescent Leeks... bizarre but only a variation of something common.

Well, it's a 2-hand opener, but a really original and very good one that's easily within your budget: the Eka Svede 88. Good 12C27 steel and an excellent slicer. Scandinavian goodness.

This is the Bubinga version:
