Something a little different -- khukuri raffle. Pix & deal.

John, have you considered instead of a number cut-off, for entries, how bout a date cut-off? I know youre trying to sell things fair and all, but in my opinion the loving care and dedication you gave your khuks is worth a whole lot, at least to me. And especially if its a lottery, its not like one person is paying too much, rather alot of people are showing thier support for you.

Realized the last post was kinda vague. But what I mean, instead of saying I need x number of lottery buyers, then its sold. How bout, I need x number of lottery buyers, but I will take tickets till y date. Any amount over x number is certainly going to a worthy cause.

I think that idea sounds good. I did receive some late entrants from "those who lurk", but will send back their checks.

What do you fellow forumites think about this? I won't offer a "hanshee" up until I get some feedback which will be most appreciated. A lot of you like anonymity so contacting me directly is welcomed.

Thanks to everyone for helping out.

John,

Perhaps a combination:

1) a minimum number of tickets

plus

2) a minimum time period

If the min. tickets are not sold during the time period, you would of course have the option of extending the time, depending upon how close to the desired number of tickets had been purchased.

Either way, I'm good for a "ticket" but will be in and out of contact with this board for the next 3 days. So if you do this while I'm out, please count me in.:)

Aardvark's way sounds okay, if I understand it. But I dont have any problem with the way you did the last one, either.

Thank you; For the opportunities.

Wow! I was gone for a week and look what I missed. :( I'll happily participate in a Hanshee raffle, just say when. :)

On the positive side, a trinagular box from Reno arrived in my absence containing a beautiful, white metal-mounted AK by Sher, complete with the legendary Sher horn handle.

Hi, John.

Any updates on the hanshee raffle?

Waiting with baited/bated hooks/breath.

I got the go ahead from Bill, so you'll see it soon. I also will be posting another group of kukris for sale.

Standby and thanks for your interest.
