Hi Everybody,

One of my great friends and very good customers wanted a Rambo/military themed sheath.

Since I have had great success with the leather covered kydex and the bonding agents I am using I thought to use some old military canvas to cover the sheath with and then do a stencil artwork on it. (still working out the stencils) so here is the proof of concept and proto version.

He thinks its great and so do I :)

There is an added bonus, if any of you have been in the military or BSA years ago, there is a certain smell that goes with this old canvas that will be immediately recognizable ;) I am working on "manly air fresheners" for the Christmas season ;)

Keep your eyes out for more versions of the Canvas Mutants

If I had 8 thumbs, I would be putting them all up in the air - this is one of the coolest things on the "cool continuum of kydex evolution" I have ever seen - I really love it.

Another winner from Mr. Brown... I've seen this in person -- which is why I'm getting one as well; absolutely fantastic fit and finish!

That smell makes me think of my Grandfathers old Ontario P4 collection and watching Donald Sutherland as Oddball. Strange how the mind works.

That’s just awesome !!!!!

The mention of that smell brings back some great memories !!
:-)

Looks great!
You might also be able to do the same with the camo rip stop fabric from some old BDUs.

That does look awesome. I am going to hit you up for a leather and kydex mutant sheath for my maroon Forsaken Gemini though.

Having grown up in the surplus business and owning a chain of them in the past, I can't help put love this.
Contact me if you ever need help finding more canvas.
This made today so much better!
Thank you for your inspirational work.

Wow! That is pretty cool! I don't know that it makes my sails puff out but I do like the concept and look. So with that it does make me wonder Hmmmm....
So Dave, ever try something like this? https://www.veneersupplies.com/prod...eneer-Lot--1425-x-2175-15-Sheets-Per-Lot.html
That stuff may be too stiff it has to be really flexable, I also have some wood grain print kydex available.

Nice work Dave :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you

I may hit you up, my supplier is kind of pricey and it is looking like I may need quite a bit of this, especially for the "air fresheners"
please e-mail me if you get a chance.
But it has to be the stinky canvas :)

Really like this. I'm going to have to remember this when the forsaken steel heart comes in.
