these are an order i just finished, light hikers for a guy and his friend who do a lot of low impact hiking and want something for the camp kitchen and general utility.

Pretty thin, around 3/32, 4 1/2 inch blades and 8 1/4 oal. nice kitchen knives, and i did some standard testing carving branches and they are holding up fine.

5 and a half ounces in the sheath- but i haven't oiled the sheaths yet.

Now, were i carrying these, I'd be pretty happy with them for fish, decent utility work, and kitchen stuff, but i think i'd carry a regular 4 inch field knife and my axe anyhow.

But i think given the mission- no footprint 2 and 3 day backpacking, ultralight, and "most" duty in the backpacker's "kitchen", they work out well.

I gotta say, I really like that design. Looks great for camp kitchen work for sure, but I think they would be perfect for field utility too. Nice job.

oh, that's SO going to have to wait until after christmas!

(incidentally, sheaths have a snapping handle collar, not attached in the photo)

With non-exotic (these are stabilized ipe, so something similar) scales and a field finish (buffed out on a 320 grit hand finish) i'll probably go $85 shipped in the US. That's priority mail, and sort of assumes eating a few bucks in paypal fees. (this is a tough balancing act, and i suck at pricing)

I personally like pouch sheaths best, but either way. fancy handle materials.... ?
