I have been a knapper for the past six years. Completely self taught. Pipeman, those are some sweet knives by the way!

In addition to echoing everything that's been said, the execution and attention to detail on these are really impressive. Hard to believe you only started doing this recently! I hope to see more!

I have tried in my youth a time or two. I have gotten stone sharp enough to cut, but the skill to get pleasing shapes was beyond my patience level!

I've found a couple of cigar boxes full, but never tried knapping..
good quality flint/chert is kinda rare around here, but every now and then I get lucky..
I mostly find quartz and rhyolite -usually crude or broken :o
