Something Different

I'm more impressed by the color of the sheath than of the blade, quite frankly.
 
For the most part, I agree as well Joss.
It's the same product on both pieces, but the sheath is polished silver and the color came out much better on it, than on the blade.
In the General Knife Makers Discussion sub-forum I just mentioned that I'd thought of either heat blue, or charcoal blue like was used on the old Colt percussion pistols as likely a better method for the blade. I'll be looking for something better for another knife I have in mind. I also realize that a lot of guys would just prefer that a steel blade just remain a natural color, and in fact, my next knife will have a natural colored blade.

I posted above the link to Mr. Kelso's site. He has a tutorial on Japanese style patination. You might find it interesting. It brings especially interesting colors to copper.
