First of all I wanna say thanks to all you enablers, without you guys I wouldn't love the Buck 305 or have any of mine.

A forum member just gave me a heads up on a stag 305 available on the Bay, I was checking it out and comparing the pics to my 305 ( I won just it) when I noticed another stag 305 listed starting at $1
They don't pop up often so I had to check it out , and when I took a look I instantly recognized it.
I was holding the very knife in my hand.

I went and looked back at the listing for my knife and neither the pictures or seller are the same but it is absolutely the same knife do doubt about it, no 2 pieces of stag are identical and both sides of this knife are a perfect match.
I don't know exactly what's going on here, the seller has been on Ebay for 20 years and has good feedback but somehow he's trying to sell a knife that is in my hand right now.
Everything is absolutely identical down to a spec on the main blade and every single detail of the stag.

hopefully I have not made a mistake by contacting the seller and providing pictures of my knife as proof, but I felt I had to maybe get some kind of answer from them before trying to report them or something.
Maybe they downloaded some pictures for research/ reference and accidentally uploaded the wrong ones ?
I don't know, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt first.

I saw it too, to be honest, I've been on the lookout for a stag 305 since i saw the pics of yours on this board. That thing is a beaut.

Are they using “stock” images and not those of the actual item for sale?

Most likely the seller is just too lazy to take his own.pics so he is using yours. I have had that same thing happen a few times.

I posted a 112 pic on Facebook and a month later a scammer tried to sell it..Cheep too!

This is a 1989 knife, and these are not stock photos.
They're not any pictures I've taken nor are they from the original Ebay listing for my knife.
That's the craziest part to me, where'd they get the pictures they're using ?

The seller I bought it off of said it came from a collector , so maybe they were that persons pictures which have been used ?

Now you're making me feel a bit bad about winning this other one that I didn't need.
My 1st thought was to leave it for somebody looking for one, but I just couldn't pass it up for the price.

I saw it and considered bidding on it, but then I already have three. If it were a stag 301, maybe I'd get another. But there are so many things I don't have, I don't want too many duplicates. But then again, it is stag. My rationale (weak) for having three is that they are not, in fact, duplicates because they are from different years and manufacturers.

Wow the stag on that Camillus 305 is gorgeous.

The seller has 30,000+ feedback and overwhelmingly positive, it's a little weird if he would use recycled pictures of something from 1989.

Interesting how it will play out.

I know and that's why I'm hoping for some explanation, but whatever the reason the pictures are of my knife and the description doesn't say those pictures aren't the actual item for sale.

Btw here's a picture from the fishy Ebay listing.

from the seller that sold it to me.

And here's one of my pictures of the knife.

You can see it's clearly my knife down to that spec on the blade, though that spec is a little faint at this point.

Hopefully the person who said they were the highest bidder will snag it.

The seller uses the same display for the majority of his knife photos. He has sold over 32,000 items on ebay with a 100% positive feedback. I don't think this is a photo of your knife. It looks exactly like your knife, but I don't think it is your knife. What does the other side of your knife look like?
