This latest knife is sort of a cross between a hidden tang and a fulltang I guess.
I have been planning on making one for a while now and this is what I came up with:

The blade is Random Damasteel with hollow grind and a rounded spine.

The handle is stabilized cherryburl, pewter and the spacer, bolster and pin are all oxidized bronze. The pin is engraved with my makers mark by Mahikel Eklund.

Sheath is wetshaped and has a thin bronze "clamp" that helps keep the sheath thight.

Overall: 310mm (12.2")
Handle: 150mm (5.9")
Blade: 160mm (6.3")

aha! Now that I go back in my memory to that talk, I actually did pick up what you were putting down. For some reason, I didn't recognize this knife, though.
I'm glad you left the bolsters plain, the rubbed edge patina looks really nice:thumbup:

Very cool! It never ceases to amaze me , the creativity, workmanship that is displayed by the knife makers that visit this forum, and this knife and sheath is no different.

Thanks for sharing!

Man, you're gifted ! Beautiful knife and sheath, as usual. You should consider attending the SICAC Paris Knife Show. We would be glad to see you here !

WOW!! A study in design and execution. I keep coming back to the shot of the sheath. The 'bolster' looks to be metal. Is this an illusion or not? Curious.

I love the treatment of the pin and it's cavity. Such refining. Each area deserves a paragraph of praise, but I'll remain silent. It's speaks on it's own.

Thanks. Super clear photos, too. :D

One of your nicest so far. A superb sheath as well.
Thank you very much Keith, I have to agree, it is one of my favorites so far...

I am thinking about the Paris show, I will see if I can get a table there at some point

Thanks Coop, you are too kind! I truly appreciate it!
The thing on the sheath is a sort of "clamp" in oxidized bronze, it helps keep the sheath tight around the knife.
Thank you for the comment regarding the photo, I would however love to see what you could do with your camera! :)

WoW  what a beautiful knife/sheath combo.
But what's new, as your designs and execution are always both innovative and absolutely beautiful.
