With HI producing all these new and cool models, I would love to see them produce a version of the sought after but no longer available bonecutter.
The bonecutter is a blunt tipped, relatively thick, thin edged and heavy for the length khuk. It also has no ridge but kind of bumps. I have not weighed all of mine but the 16" model is 26oz and the 18" model is close to 2 lbs.
Here are a few pics. The shape is similar to a Ganga Ram but with a blunter tip thicker spine and the cutting edge is longer cause it has less curve.
The top handle is the bonecutter. Wide flare and slight curve but not oversized which I find can cause cramping
Next here is a picture of the the three sizes. IMO for woods use the 16" is the best. In the lineup
The big bonecutter 20" I think A Tora Bushman, The 18" 2lb bonecutter 1/2" spine, a 17" 23 oz Foxy Folly and the 16" 25 oz Bonecutter.
I'd love to see HI make a run of these!!! There's no fancy fullers or other stuff just good ergonomics and chopping ability.
