Something is weird with this knife

I expect "Salesman's Sample" is as good of an explanation as any. And unless the guy who actually made that 'thing' speaks up, it may be the best explanation that Duck Buck ever gets.

I bought this one after I'd seen another one last week, and I liked the different combination of blades. I wish it had those bone handles like Marc's instead of Black Delrin.

In the description, the seller stated he thought it was a leftover from a special order for Purina Mills. I figured it would be a chance to get something nice, new, yet uncommon. Note the plain white box, seller says typical of a Schrade SFO. Never seen the oval shield before.

Well, the seller was correct about Purina Mills. I'm glad to have an Old Timer Quality knife with a saw blade and a punch. Thanks for the info.

I have a record of a 897PM02 dated 2002. It mentions that this year's Purina Mills knife is to have 897UH handles, instead of the black handles. The mark side is to have the Purina shield and mark side of the master blade will have the Purina blade etch - both shield and artwork existing. The shield was #14025, and it was to ship in the plain white 8OT gift box. Only 100 were ordered. I'll look for previous year's records, but I am thinking these "89OT Purina Mills" SFO knives are likely 1999-2000.
