Something i've been thinking about regarding the warranty...

This "Pinky" thing is subjective......not sure if hand size plays a role (XXL gloves), or pure grip, but I have never had an issue with it. Actually helps with giving a snapping stroke. I don't wear gloves while I work with it, so I like to think of it as Sasquatch.....some folks seen him, some haven't.

And much like the Classic car analogy.......yeah you could spend 20K on a rice burner that would/could out perform a classic car, or spend 180K on a 1968 Shelby Cobra GT 500-KR......if you have the money and the "taste" for classics....do it!

Yeah but just think of how much INFI one could buy with $160K. :D

I believe. Just follow the red arrow.

I get more of the Busse Pinky with the BWM than I do with the CGFBM.

But then I have big hands, I wish the slabs on the BWM were thicker.

that is the problem with such coveted rare knives. The money you put into them is so much more, compared to buying a relatively new design.

If I had lots of money, I would buy the new ones and the old ones.

If money was tighter, I would just buy a close to size new model.

Since money is tighter than tight right now, I would just pine over the BWM. I am seriously considering selling my Modded FBMLE, just to fund one!

Send me your FBM LE and i'll buy you a bushwacker. :p

I recall Jerry saying that old valuable knives would be replaced at original purchase price with shop credit. Makes sense to me, he's not responsible the secondary market.

That stump look familiar? :D

Man, that's an old Photochop. I dug that one out of the dusty archives. :p

I brought that stump with me when I moved......my neighbor was thrown off....he actually came out to question if was always there or was he going crazy:D

I will have to get an updated picture of it....doesn't look quite so good any longer.....been chopped on a bit over the years:D

I wouldn't expect him to cover secondary market prices, it seems totally fair. It kind of takes the urge I have to buy a 900-1000 dollar knife away though and stick to production models.

Don't be afraid to drop the money and USE it.....these are the knives the company became famous from.....these laid the ground work for the toughest knives in service......they are just as good....yes...even the A2 models......as current versions.

Were all SHBM models in A2 or were any in INFI? Have their been newer runs of SHBMs for shows etc..? Infi?

Over the years, there have been modifications, hardness levels, but yes, EVERY SINGLE SHBM is INFI. Only the other Straights were ever A2, ATS-34, etc.....

My earlier comment was in regards to Steel Hearts and Badger attacks, as far as A2.....it is still widely used and Jerry ALWAYS had a helluva Heat Treatment, so you know even they can take what you can dish out.

Belive me, I throw, beat, and have hit brick, rock, gravel, nails......not on purpose, but in general use and I would NEVER say a bad word about any of them....in fact, that is why I have so many....I find they look better, feel better, perform JUST as well if not better to ANY comparable model out today. I have tried old and new and prefer the old. Standards over mags and smooth slabs over contoured.

But again, this is my experience.........to each his own.....I also like them FAT, FAT FAT!!!!

Old picture.....a few more have been added

I think you would get, a copy of your knife. But seriously I doubt you can do anything to it by using it that would require more then a visit to the spa.
