It's the American Bladesmith Society. Learning/teaching/promoting forging practices is their whole purpose.

Its because knife making with steel was done by forging for thousands of years. Belt grinders are not that old. I hope to be able to forge a knife someday. Right now I still need to learn how to make a "very good" knife.
