2.7mm 115W8 1500/400 Ht which should give 62Rc. 4 inch spear point blade with 400 grit hand rubbed finish, sharpened to 8000 grit on Norton and King water stones then stropped with dried out Smurf poo. Don Hanson sourced Missouri black walnut. SS Corbys and tube. Sheath is a JRE, I think. It was a second that I picked up from LT Wright's shop. IMG_0737.jpg

LOL. You are less than 100 km from the source and you are begging me for my last little bit? :eek: This was the last decent size piece of the 2.7mm, so all I have left is one 150mm long piece piece of the 5mm thick x 36mm wide stock and a couple of little 2.7mm scraps. Is Achim all out of that stuff? I thought he still had some of the thinner stock left. He needs to make more!!!!!

I like that knife .I read many story about Kephart knife but I can t understand what is so special about them ? Can you shortly explain me this blade ? I can make knife but I still don t understand/know how to look in different blade shape .... :(
 
The thing that is so special about the Kephart is that there is absolutely nothing special about it. It was a functional little knife that lent itself to being cheaply produced using common industrial knife making equipment and materials of the time. We have just made it a little bit fancier at times, but not much.
