Something new coming....

For some reason I thought about this thread today and it popped in my head that something like this would happen if RAT & Maxpedition got together to make a sheath.

No offense to the sheath maker. I'm fond of Maxpedition gear and how bulletproof it is.....kinda like RAT knives. :D

I hope that sounded right.

And yes, I'm still itching for one of these.

are their plans to make this in different colors. black, olive green, khaki, pink and so forth.

the kydex is out .... the new nylon i am waiting on.... looks perfect for my needs.... but it might be a while....if you need new pants for the rc5 and have the nylon i suggest you pick up the kydex mine works pretty well and the belt clip rocks for putting it on and off , and it supports the knife well

Dude, I can make kydex!! I want the new "knife in a kit" sheath...

Maxped=china.
RAT=USA.
I don't think Jeff would let someone of lesser qc have any sort of input on their products.

Maxpedition has awesome gear with great quality control. I usually am pretty anal to the whole american made thing, but I can justify buying a something over $130 for hiking, over nighter pack.

They are a quality product and hold up in the field, I will give them that. But the prices they charge aren't that far away from TAD gear and some of the other American made, American stitched MOLLE gear companies. What I'd like to see is a RAT-Eberle conglomerate. Now THAT would be sweet.

Makes me kind of glad i waited to buy an RC-6. Maybe I could buy the whole kit-n-kaboodle.

+1, that might be what I'll do as well. :thumbup:

I don't know if I'll often wear it as a belt rig, but I could easily see leaving it packed and self-contained and just taking it and dropping it into a pack or strapping it to my molle camelbak. I'm usually not a big fan of the sheath survival rig because they either have too little room or are too bulky; this one looks like it might hit that sweet middle ground. :thumbup:

That thing looks awesome! Can't wait to get my hands on one. Any info on a pricetag yet, or is it too early still?
