Here is something that the voices in my head suggested to me, stabilized curly maple laminated over black canvas Micarta. I have a lot of faith in the J B Weld that I used on the layup (the long setting overnight type) and don't see any way this is going to delaminate. But, my work is absolutely guaranteed for lifetime for repair, refund or replacement.
52100 high carbon steel heat treated to Rc 58-60
Flat grind with a 400 grit belt finish followed with a cork belt
Overall length 8 3/4 inches
Blade: 4 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
