Hey all,
Last week I posted some pics of some leather carving that I have started dabbling in. I had a great response to that post and I continue to work at getting better. Just prior to that Gehazi had contacted me about some work for one of his blades, the hasiya, this blade is commonly used as a garden/farming tool and HI has over the years made some of the nicest versions out there. Well while working out the details of what he wanted done, he gave me complete freedom to do what I wanted to the sheath. He asked for a sheath without the front opening and he wanted a traditional style frog with it. So I came up with a wet formed style sheath and was able to do a frog as he wanted. Well once I got started I was very nervous about attempting to do any carving on a customers sheath but after a short debate with myself I figured what the heck do it, the hasiya being a garden tool I though a floral design would be appropriate, so I did a double floral carving, I really like how it came out. After that I did my take on a traditional frog, this also is the first one I have done for an HI blade. I am very happy with the end result and proud to have done it for an HI product.
So enough babble here are some pics with and without the frog.
