Mark suggested we condense the stickies into a single thread. That way the forum has more page length for open threads. All the info is there. Just open the thread and click the info desired. The old stick will open up just as it was before.

Check it out.

Haha, I thought I was missing half the page when I opened it up. New look, more space. Good idea.

Confused me at first!

Stacy, as I have recently gone through all the threads in the newbie thread (some multiple times!) as well as the Count's newb post, I have noticed many dead links. I'm not criticizing, but would it be at all useful if I tracked down which ones are dead and list them for you? I'd also be willing to help search out new sources to replace those old ones or locate them if they are at a new host (I believe I've found a couple).

Overall, thanks for all this amazing information. What a community and resource BF is!

Yes, there are dead links. The mods can't possibly check the links, so we rely on the forumites to tell us when a link is dead or there is a problem. If you find a dead link, send one of the mods a PM or email telling which link is bad ( copying the link and location in the PM is a good idea). We will remove it or update it. Same goes for thinks that you folks want added to the stickies....just let us know.

Could I make the suggestion that you move the last stick to the top of the thread instead of the bottom? Newb info will most likely be read the most, so why not put it first.

Damn, I thought this was going to be a thread about a new incredible epoxy. But, consolidation is a good idea.

Stacy, when I get a chance, I will type out a brief summary of the heat treat stickies. As a newbie, I found the sheer volume of information overwhelming, and recently did a brief synopsis on another site regarding the effects of heat on metal (bicycle frame tubing), and got good feedback that it was easy to follow. I will edit it to remove the bicycle specific information, and send it to you to see if it is appropriate for the newbie section.

Just post it in Shop Talk as a new thread. That way it can be vetted by all here, and attached to the stickies.
