I actually spent about two weeks drooling over the various suggestions. I did, however, finally make up my mind and recently got the A.G. Russell spearpoint ti framelock. Really nice, comfortable little knife. And I almost immediately shipped it out again to get it drilled and tapped for tip up carry. Thanks again to everybody for the multitude of suggestions.
 
About Viper knives, I do not own any (yet!) but a good friend of mine owns the N690Co Gent folder in wood/titanium and I have to say I love it, it's one of the best examples I have seen of a quality folder in the small/medium size for EDC (depending on what knives u are used to carrying) with a modernized "traditional" design, of course u can't compare it to similar US production knives (u could find products with the same features for way cheaper, but I assume style is more the matter here) but I think it can be a good alternative for the OP requests.
