Used beehives??? I literally laughed out loud at that one. Just didn't seem to fit, but I am sure they have a good reason.

In addition to varroa mites as mention by resinguy, used beehives have the potential to contain small hive beetles, wax moth eggs/larvae, American foul brood and European foul brood (diseases). The US and most other countries have similar prohibitions.
