something simple

Correct.

Also - in reference to "if any other maker posted this knife..." A significant part of the reason why Nick or Don Hanson receive a lot of attention for the knives they post (in addition to the obvious - they make superb knives) is that these guys make substantial contributions to this forum through their participation - and have been doing so for some time.

Roger

Your post above is exactly to my point. Which is there are some collectors here whose comments and judgments of some maker's knives here are based on friendships and the maker's standing in the forum rather than on their individual knife's merit. Not saying this is right or wrong, just merely pointing it out.

For the record, I never mentioned Don Hanson, ryan did and Nick made the "nothing to do cartwheel's over" reference to his own knife I didn't.

And my posting of John White's and Bill Buxton knives was not inappropriate IMO as it's a perfect example where one fine maker's most basic and simple model received much more (more than both John's and Bill's put together) replies/views/at a boys/high 5s than two other fine maker's more complex models.

Even though I take a maker followed closely by piece then price philosophy of collecting I don't "at a boy", "high 5", you tha man" every knife Jerry Fisk makes, only the ones that appeal to me.

As I have made my point, which is a valid point shared by others, I will not debate this with you any further as I don't do the back and forth thing with you any longer as it serves no productive purpose.

It may be a worthy discussion point on its own, Kevin, but not appropriate to insert into a thread where a maker is showing an example of his work - nothing more. You are welcome to feel differently.

As for it being "exactly your point" - forum responses to a posting being influenced by friendship is hardly to be equated with the purchase philosophy of "maker / piece / price" versus "piece / maker / price".

As for your decision not to "debate this with you any further as I don't do the back and forth thing with you any longer as it serves no productive purpose" I won't engage in the hypocrisy of pretending I give a damn.

My posts on this page were all kind of silly, I didn't mean to start a brush fire. :foot:

Roger- Thank you so much... your post means a great deal to me!!!! :D

Kevin, I do understand where you're coming from and was not at all insulted with what you posted. I meant to convey that with my "group love'n" jab :p

Now let's get back to the regularly scheduled program of sharing cool knife pics/stories/dreams/lies :D

Thanks Nick, as I was hoping you did not take my comments as my not appreciating your work. It's just my nature to say what some may just think to themselves. Perhaps I shouldn't have introduced this into your thread, but thought something needed to be said and didn't want my comments to be interrupted as more then they were by starting a new thread.

And Roger, no disrespect meant to you as I just wanted you to know I was not going to duel back & forth turning this into a big issue.

Nick,

Where's the brass and kydex sheath. You know that leather stuff can stretch, don't you? Who chromes your blades? :D
