Something smells funny....think i saw a fake Marine today. Input from service members

Wow. I'm confused. Let me see if I have this right.

Uluapark saw bigfoot wearing digicams with flags on the sleeves.

I've got it. Bigfoot was just wearing the camoflage to hide from Bawanna so he didn't get made into khukri sheaths by Pugs. All while he was listening to motorhead.

Does that sound about right?

No, I think i spotted a faker. we are 400 miles away from Camp Lejune, and 250 away from Fort Bragg. This guy was wearing A full combat uniform just walking around, we are in Charlotte,NC. I have buried 3 friends because of Iraq, and refuse to let phonies slide. Isnt there a law called stolen valor or some such under which they are prosecuted for impersonating a federal employee? Just for shiites and Giggles, suppose he tries to tell me he is Special ops, at what age would one be first elgible for such an honor? 27? dont they require you to be in the military for a certain amount of time before you are elgible to apply for training? why would spec ops take a green recruit, makes no sense to me. seems they want people who know how military functions inside and out so they can apply that knoweledge to more high risk stuff they do.

Want to adjust my mission and switch from hunting bigfeet to hunting phonies? I been looking real hard and ain't seen a bigfeet yet but I remain optimistic and determined.

I would generally give the person a pass. Ft. Jackson is a short trip down 77 from Charlotte. Military members have to take kids to the doctor, pick up family members from the airport, etc. Sometimes they are traveling in an official capacity as part of their job, for various reasons

It may be against code to be in their uniform but is done frequently.

. that is the FBI's and the respective service branches mission i think, as they have a vested security issue in these phonies claiming to be uber deadly seal, ranger, recon, green berets types. especially with whom we are dealing with now a days, which isnt nation states anymore. i dont want a trophy hunter coming here to cause a stir because some fool wants to get laid, and cant do it on his own merits, so he steals others. this kid was like 20 yrs old, and from what others have said, Marines dont wear patches on their combat uniforms, which is interesting since he was wearing a flag patch, facing the wrong way with the stars facing front. I live 400 miles away from Camp lejune, the nearest Marine base, and 250 miles away from fort Bragg which is a army base, that i imagine the Marines use for training,as they are basically a blend of Army/Navy/airforce. they have planes, tanks, ships. I have only ever seen one marine craft and it was a gigantic hovercraft, very cool. And i was told, they aren't even authorized to wear the uniform unless they are Going to work, they cant even go to a grocery store in them.

Nope. Supreme Court ruled that the Stolen Valor Act was unconstitutional, and that a person lying about being in the military is a protected form of free speech.

. god, Can SCOTUS get anything right?, really...oh well i guess the upside to having been in perpetual war for the last 50 years is that there are a lot of real veterans who will take care of him, when/if they catch him. his loss.

Been awhile since I was in, but the only time we left base in our utility uniform was while on duty in the performance of our duties. Don't know about the flag as we never had, and the only thing on them but our rank insignia, in war time we took off the rank insignias so not to let the enemy know who was who. As far as Recon and Force Recon, you would go to your tech school then to your unit, you could request to go to the SF training but it was very selective but im not sure if there was an age limit, sometime the green ones are the best ones to get as they have not been tainted by any negative nellies and you could mold and cultivate them the way necessary to make it in spec ops.

...Never had the hair. My goal was to get it long enough to touch my nose but my dad never let it happen.

Now nature never lets it happen...

Nature is kind and usually provides a way, if we are willing to work with her. For us older gents, growing the nostril hairs long sometimes allows achievement of such long-delayed youth time goals.

I see service members in the grocery store here almost daily. They are always in groups so I assume they are traveling to Fort Hood down the road from here? Not likely a group of "fake" men and women.
