Since hunting season is coming up, I wanted to post something really nice; with luck this blade will process a trophy for a BF member, and maybe even make a few buddies jealous.
I used one of my finest pieces of Curly Claro on this piece, one of the best from 24 blocks I just got back from stabilizing. Strong curl figure and chatoyance. Walnut is one of my favorites, rich yet understated.
Excellent fit and finish, good balance and handling, and comfortable sculpted Gunstock handle. This is about as good as I'm able to make these days. Blade is 800 grit satin polish, handle is taken to 2000 grit then oil + wax, and hand buffed.
