I just realized I do not have a 5-6" Bussekin blade!

Don't get me wrong, I love my LMF II. But seeing as there are some inexpensive choices available at the moment, good thing I will be able to advert this tragedy soon enough.

Question:

RMD or the 511

Uses: Very light backyard batoning for my fire pit, deer hunting carry, stabbing inanimate objects, trimming tree branches for no reason, and showing friends who will have no idea why I am so proud.

Based on these functions, which knife?

DON'T SAY BOTH

On a side note/question, will the 6" vinyl sheathe from Scrap Yard be too big for either of these knives? Not a fan of Kydex and dont have the extra $50+ for a Chuddy.

Can't comment on the RMD, but have the 511 and LOVE it! It has 100% first stab kill for all inanimate objects I have hunted with it. Does well on smaller chopping jobs as well.
 
Edit: I vote for the Boss Jack since you said upto 6"....I LOVE the Boss Jack:)

The RMD is a close 2nd for me though:)

Just a bit too big for my uses. I'd just grab my NMSFNO instead for almost anything. But yea, the BJ is so awesome looking :(
 
RMD all day long. Micarta or G10 handles and you can give that sucker to your grandson some day.
 
Normally I always go with the ResC, but in this case:

RMD. Ive put that thing through all sorts of hell and it comes back each time just looking better.
 
I'll put my vote in there for the RMD as well, its one of my favorite "go to" knives. :)

Might look at the Spec Ops line of sheaths, I hear the RMD fits well in the Combat Master. And I heard recently that there is an off shoot of Spec Ops with a lower price point, but I (embarrassingly) cant remember the name. :o If I can find it, I'll post the name.

Depends on what you're using it for. I'd take my NMSFNO before a Boss Jack if I had to pick just one, but the Boss Jack is a very different knife than the NMSFNO. Overall all I like the NMSFNO better than the Boss Jack, but as a 5-6" fixed blade it's hard to beat.

I don't have the 511 or RMD yet, but on that size of a blade, I prefer Micarta, so my vote goes to the RMD.
 
RMD or Boss Jack. I think you just missed the last of the stock of RMD's at the Swamp, but there are more coming I'm sure. Really comfortable knife.

NMSFNO is popular around here, but I have a lot more use for a Boss Jack.
