I don't know if this is the spot to post this, and if not feel free to move, but I thought it was cool and might interest makers of knives.
We were hunting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last fall, an area that still has remnants of eras past, big logging camps, etc, but DEEP in the woods. So we are working the pines looking for Grouse, and all of a sudden, heres a foot pump forge, right in the forest, like some guy got up from it 80 years ago and just walked away. Nothing else around, and no real evidence of any buldings or anything, Just this forge sitting upright. Who knows how long it had been there?
So we picked it up, and put it on the back of one of the quads, and it now adorns the front porch of my buddies cabin. Looks rusty obviously, but seems complete sans the wood plank, long rotted, for pumping the fan, and with small chip in the fire/coal area (that we might have done).
Anyway, hope you guys think its cool too
