Got my Mini CQC7a at my doorstep yesterday. The delivery box was managled. I immediately became suspicious that something was wrong because but the Emerson box was perfect.

Opening it I was surprised that I received a 2001 model with number 232 on it. Also the thumb disk is wobbly and looks like it doesn't quite fit right. This is the first Emerson I have received with a ill fitting thumb disk.

Does the number have any significance as a collector? Were many numbered? Also, I think I should send it back for repair. I might be able to tighten down the screw more but it still looks like the disk doesn't sit flush.

Recommendations?
Thanks

Send it back if it is not properly assembled, EKI has great customer service. I think the 232 is the serial number. Good luck and let us know,
Reed

I was suspicious too when I recieved my mini-B. I don't that the number is the serial number. I think that the first 1000 (?) are numbered. But I could be wrong since I am still learning about Emersons.
Good luck,
Matt
BTW, mine is # 372

This is a little surprising, as I've always been impressed with how perfectly the thumb disks have always been fitted on EKI knives.

Send that puppy back, they'll make it right for you, and don't worry about the serial number. I got one that was 093 and was kind of concerned about using it, but I was assured by all the "older" Suspects that it really doesn't have that much effect on the value of a production blade.

Send it back and you'll have it back perfect in no time at all!
