The SAR8 SE appeals to me more than any Busse blade I have seen to date. That is saying a lot because I haven't seen a Busse that I didn't love, either.
Every offering by Busse Combat is a special blade, and as a Busse fan, I do love them all, but every once in a while, one comes along that really tickles my fancy. For me, it's the Sus Scrofa, the Tali-Whacker, and now the SAR8!

Anybody else out there feel the same about the SAR8?

Keep 'em coming, Jerry!

Agreed, the blade height and packability for a mid sized chopper is ideal.

I am anxious to see the Bushwhacker too!

I havent held one yet, but I just ordered the black one last night. I would agree, even though its based on looks alone, that this model is special.

I can't wait for it to arrive.

You guys are making me feel bad that I didn't grab one last night :-( I was really tempted, but I'm waiting for a BM and want to get an ASH as well. Why can't I just be rich?!?!

let's not mar the reputation of the SAR8 by lumping it in together with the SusScrotum, ew

;)

Not held one either, but I know how much I love the ERGO's and I think the SAR will fit the void even better. Can't wait!!!

I thought it was the ScrotumScratcher? :foot: :p :D ;)

My favs are the SHBM, ASH-1s, ADs...
And I'm sure the Bushwacker will be right there with them.
even though I've only seen pics. :o :D

Oh... and I almost forgot the Ruck... LOVE the Ruck too.

.

I truely like the SR8 INFI. The slimmer blade profile is a cross between a fighter and a chopper. A fantastic all use knife.

If you like the Ergo BM's and the Basic 9 the SAR 8 is a nice halfway house between the two! Better NM features as well....

The SAR-4 is an amazing blade, so it goes to say I would love the 8 as well. The first time I handled a SAR-4 I was impressed. It just feels like a solid chunk of steel with a handle attached. A perfectly weighted, indestructible blade, with a beautiful, ergonomic handle, that is.

That said, I love fat ASH's as well.

I agree with your comments on both the SAR-4 and especially the SAR-8 - they're incredible camp/woods knives, especially when paired with a Culti or BAD. The only change I want to make is to have someone (hopefully Busse Combat) enlarge the choil on my SAR-4 to the same size/shape as the choil on my SAR-8.

yes! Larger choil for the sar4:thumbup:

SAR4 & 8 ??? for you owners

-Do you find the thumb grip on the spine to have sharp edges???
-Do they chew into the thumb???
-Are they kinda noticable, but they don't dig into your thumb???

nevermind... yesterday is a relative term. :D oopppsss.

A little edgy, not abrasive.
No, but I only use saber grip part of the time. Hammer fist others.
Yes.

They scrape firestarters well.

Russ, I have both and I like the the grip but it can get a little aggressive if the thumb is not resting squarely on the top of the spine, if that makes sense.

I would think you could even modify this yourself with a file or sandpaper and knock the sharp corner on both sides of the thumb grip off if you prefered.:)

They are perfect as is IMO.
