Sometimes I just "wander" in here to relax. Thanks all!

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate our little group here. Each of you "regulars" who I have gotten close with and those who I barely know have created quite a community in this little corner of BFC. In the last year we have ordered 95 knives as a group and more importantly many of us have made new friends.

I know every time I come in here odds are I will learn something (There are folks here who have forgotten more than I will know), or see a knife that gets me going or read a story that I feel fortunate to have read.

It has been a crazy couple of months here. Just a lot of trouble and some tough decisions that nobody really likes to make. This place is a folksy haven and I have been using it just to focus on why BFC is here.

Good to see you, Gus. Your presence is definitely missed.

If there's anything you need or I can do, give a shout.

That is the key sentence as to why I'm so glad I stumbled onto BF and the Trad forum.

Not sure I'm a regular, but can identify with you there. Heck, Blues has made me use the dictionary at least 3-4 times.:)

A "gaggle" of members here have taught me a thing or two.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I'm with you Bastid. This is the best spot on the forum in my opinion. Nothing wrong with all of the other areas, but you can definitely relax in here and just enjoy the hobby.

I think a lot of people "just wander in here to relax."

Many others come to learn and to teach and to share the wealth of knowledge about traditional cutlery.

Some come to laugh and have a good time.:)

Me, I come for the music...it's kinda' folksy...and a little bluesy...and it's got a good beat...and my baby can dance to it.

I don't know if I'm quite a regular, most times reading more than writing.I was here a while back and didn't sign up because I wasn't sure that I would be comfortable,I'm sure glad I finally took the plunge though. It's been a great experience.

Ford,

Blues and Gus are singing “Whiskey for my men and beer for my goats.”

Or "Relax, take your shoes off and sit a spell. Ya'll come back now."

I'm pickin'. He's grinnin'. :p

This is about the only forum on the internet that I feel like I'm among friends, and can unwind a little. The kind of people here that I would'nt mind having a few toddies around a campfire with.

Toddies and a campfire sound good, Jackknife. This is the only forum and the only folder on the forum I visit on a regular basis. Everywhere else seems loaded with machismo and noise.

Likewise, guys. After a long hard day at work or with the family, or whatever it is that life has us all deal with on a daily basis, I come here and let out a long, content sigh.

No, Not good, great, it is really a nice place to come and hang your hat for a while. Good friends, great posts, and good discussions on the threads. What more could a man ask for? Don't always hang here, but when I have been lurking about, everyone seems friendly. Totally opposite from a couple of forums where I can go, but made the mistake of starting a thread there. Will not make that one again. I am a folder nut and watch the for sale threads a lot. But it is always good to know where I can come back and just enjoy reading. Yall have a good night, time for this old man to go to bed. Old but still having to work.:grumpy:

Night Now,
James

I spend most of my time on the Custom forum but this is a great place, Gus. I need to stop in here more often.

Gus we are just following your lead. :) Best darn forum anyplace is right here, and alot of the blame for that is on you. :).

Excellent place to frequent !

Reminds of the small, one main road town my Dad was born and raised. A picturesque place where the town elders would gather in front of the "Feed Store" to whittle and tell their amazing stories. :D

Yeah, sometimes I come to this forum to relax, too.

Great place, really nice people.

Gets me away from the rat-race.

And then someone will post a picture of the latest Bose knife, my heart rate goes up, my blood pressure through the roof.......:D

I try to keep the rambling to a minimum in here, and love to just come in and look around, see whats new.

Like Shaldag said, then you throw up a pic of a custom slippie, and I get all hot n' bothered ;).

I must wholeheartedly agree with Gus and most of the rest of you all here!. I liken this little favorite corner of our forum to an old mountain hollow where a mess of pals of mine used to meet just south-west of Blowing Rock, NC in the early 1980's where and when I was building log cabins at the time.. We would go there after work to do some plink'n, some whittl'n, and BS and just plain blow off some steam with a little camp-fire in the center of it all.. We would talk about whose knife pattern had the most versatility when it came to hunting, fishing and survivalist skills. Or whose deer rifle caliber had the most punch and or accuracy and countless other topics.. I can still smell the aroma of the pine and oak medley as I stoke the fire.

BF's Traditional reminds me of that little spot in a virtual sort of way. and it is the place where I spend the most time,, hands down.. I do visit the Schrade forum and the Camillus forum as well as BRL's Identification forum and a few others on a fairly regular basis. However, if I am hankering for good story or some good honest fellowship with a great cast of fine down-to-earth folksy characters, and the absolute finest line-up of traditional knives anywhere on the Internet, then it's here I'll tend to gather.
