Sometimes you get lucky.....

I would get the double lugs for sure. I don't see how it would hurt the value at all if the work is done by CRK.

Fuck collectablity. It's your grail piece. Do with it exactly what you want.
LMAO! I love this comment :D

Beautiful knife! It's sounds like it going to be a collectors knife. Lots of $$ for a knife to look at and fondle.

The knife would probably rather be in a pouch in your pocket sometimes.:D:)
This is the debate I keep having with myself. Sure would love carrying this around a few times a week. Hmmmmmm

I guess my concern was going from gold to silver. You think it'll look better with gold or silver? Kinda matches right now, I just don't really care for the colored lugs.

Very impressive find! I would use it, why spend all the money on it for it to sit in a box?? With that being said, I personally would pouch carry and have a "beater" knife along with it for dirty jobs.
Edit to add: I think silver lugs might look odd with the gold spacer. Why not just go for double gold?

I personally like the silver look, especially if it is not going to be kept in a safe. I imagine the gold will wear off with use like the blue does. If I went with silver lugs, I'd replace all of the gold hardware as well.

A very stunning knife, congratulations on "the one"!!!!
Right now it is yours, make it yours, if you want all silver, then make it all silver. I really don't think you'll be hurting the value of the knife by getting double silver lugs put on it. I couldn't even imagine what on earth would make you want to get rid of it, ever.

I say go for making it your own and get the studs changed if that is your vision. I'll buy it if you change your mind. Personally I like the CRK dark gold hardware and how the thumbstud slowly turns silver (with a hint of gold). It is not a noticeable shift in colour like the blue hardware, and I think adds something to the appearance, maybe just because it is different.

Like other said make it your own. Personally I like the gold on this one but that is subjective.

I understand what you mean re: not the right type and all. Damascus is hard enough to find, but them Mammoth bark like that does not come around too often. That is my flavor of mammoth too:thumbup:

Another vote for gold. I think it's a nice accent to the inlay, it's special.
As has been pointed out the golden one gets silver with use.
The question about single or double stud's, can't answer that. How often do you need left hand opening?
You could also it it as is and deceide at a later date.
Cool knife - I could never bring myself to use it - hat's off to you.

Congratulations !!!!! And welcome to the club :-)

I like silver hardware on all and any CRK's. Shouldn't alter value one bit. Whenever studs are changed I'm almost positive that automatically includes all hardware including spacer. The Gold does look good too on that set-up.

Congrats on a great find. Why is Mammoth not being used anymore by CRK?

Probably has alot to do with availability. There has been some stuff posted in general that pertains to the issue with Mammoth. I wouldn't count on CRK doing anymore runs unless something changes..

That's what I'm thinking, also. That and I hear the prices just keep going up as the supply diminishes.
