This bowie is one of those "When is Good enough, enough"
Except for finial sharpening and stenciling it's done.
Forged 5160 blade 11.5" Long 17" overall.
416ss spacer butt cap and soldered guard with a mix of finishes.
Desert Ironwood handle.

I'd call that good enough for sure! Crisp, clean lines, sleek butt-cap, very nice looking knife! Where's the sheath?!? ;)

That is one fantastic piece Dave!!!

Beautiful lines and it looks to be clean as a whistle!

Why are you going to sharpen the finial though??? ;) :p

Thanks for sharing Dave... I'd say this piece elevates your work to a new level and is going to open the eyes of some very serious collectors. :)

WOW that is beautiful.

Dave,
I printed out that photo and put it in my folder of good examples of a top notch knife. The improvement over the first design is amazing. The blade flows with grace, the fit and finish at the ricasso/guard/bolster is excellent, and the Moran handle style in that exhibition grade DI is one of the best jobs I've seen. The finial just makes it ring the bell.

If that was a KITH knife, I think I would try and rig the selection....and you would get my name. (But I suspect it isn't a KITH knife)

First rate work, my compliments.

Thanks for your input:)
Over a year ago I posted a Bowie and asked for input. Many knives later I decided to make a new one based on the input I received. There were many people that really made me think on this knife. Special thanks to Mace and Stacy "Bladesmith"

Dave--this is perhaps your best work. But, since you did one a year ago and now did this, I really think the tird time woulld really be the charm. Why don't I come over and get this one out of your way so it won't inhibit your creative process on the next one!!!

Seriously, you really hit this one out of the park.

When is good enough good enough?

It is when the knife exceeds both your and the customer's expectations.

This one would exceed most customers expectations, it is one pretty knife.
