Son shot his first deer

Congrats!!!!!. Nothing like being able to share your first big game kill with your dad. Wish mine was still alive. Thanks for sharing.

Thumbs up to all three of you. Must be an exciting time. I figure the equivalent for us city folks is when the kid goes into Starbucks to buy his/her own first latte :D
 
He used a Savage Axis .243 a cheap made in USA rifle under $300 that with good glass has been shooting 1.5 inch groups he shot it at 65 yards broadside got both lungs missed the shoulder and it dropped in it's tracks. He said should I shoot again? Nope it's dead.
DANG! He's pretty accurate with that! The one I use could do that... at appx. 20 yds, other than that, it's about 2 inches to the left. Granted, I shoot a really cheap $100 Mosin-Nagant 91/30, so I can't ask too much of it.
Another round of backpatting is in order!
