Songs with knife content...

The Adventures of Jim Bowie, 1956—1958, song by Ken Darby and the Kings Men and I don't know who wrote the lyric. It was one of the first TV shows criticized for on-screen violence. IMO he should have knocked on the door instead of throwing his knife.

Rosco Gordon, "Booted" (1951/52), released by Chess December 1951 and RPM January 1952.

Now you can dig my tatters, you can pull my corn,
You gotta make yourself at home
But when you take my wife, stay out late,
I'm gonna take my knife and operate.

There was a contract dispute settled out of court: Chess gave the Bihari brothers exclusive rights to Gordon and they gave Howlin' Wolf to Chess. That's what they did back then.
