Hi everyone, I wanted to make my Boss Jack into an Arizona edition. So i purchased some Arizona desert ironwood burl scales.
They started as 3/8" x 2" x 5" matchbooked. Since Arizona is the copper state, I also wanted to incorporate some copper with my ironwood and INFI
. So I purchased some 1/4" copper pins.
Here it is with the scales off ready to strip.
This is my EDC, so I wanted something robust without being too flashy.
Here it is with the scales getting fitted.
Here it is ready too glue. I rough sanded the tang, pins, and the inside of the scales. And I used 3300 pound outdoor gorilla epoxy.
Here it is after clamping all night, with the pins scales epoxied on.
and a little sanding.
Here it is marked and ready for sanding
Here it is at 400 grit sanded and shaped. Fills my hand like a dream come true. Still need to go to 2000 grit
Have a great day !! I gotta get to work
