Al, that is an absolutely gorgeous mod!! You did a great job on matching the ironwood grain to the handle shape.

Quick question: Have you considered that the copper and INFI may gall and, if so, did you do anything during construction to prevent or minimize it?

I don't know the numbers to speculate if the two metals will interact that way (or not), but am hoping one of our more scientifically oriented members will give a more definitive "yea or nay" on its probability.

Didn't consider the galling thing, but looked into it now that you mentioned it . It looks like galling has more to do with similar metals than dissimilar metals. Also it has to do with movement.
Anyways, the pins and the holes in the INFI were coated with epoxy then spun into place, so there is very little, if any, metal to metal contact.

That looks awesome. I have a bunch of birds eye maple I wanted to try something like that with but I never knew how to attach them to the knife. Does the Epoxy hold strong enough if you use it?
