It’s 12 inches OAL. The blade is forged from 5160 with an integral bolster and a “jumping edge”. The handle is Staghorn cholla cactus skeleton with a twisted copper wire wrapped ferrule and copper end pieces.

Not a big wavy blade fan but as always I love the organic, raw, elemental look.

Thanks!

Yes Wang. It is for you. :)

Chuck (AKA Wild Rose) is going to make a sheath for it.

Steven, now you've gone and spoiled it by taking the mystery away... :D

Bruce, to quote myself from the wip thread, "There is no secondary bevel on the edge. It’s mostly sharpened by sanding the bevels to raise a burr, then it’s kissed with a hard Arkansas and stropped. For the sanding I wrapped sand paper around a 1 inch diameter wooden dowel. The stone and strop also had rounded surfaces."

I've been back to look at this so many times, and I really just can't think of what to say about it.
But, I have to say something, as I find this knife to be entirely fascinating.
So, uh, that's about all I have to say, (sorry bandwidth:p)

Ray, when I was working on the edge it "jumped" out and bit me good! That's why I call it a "shank" (knife or knife like object primarily used for stabbing) with a "jumping edge". Dangerous knife to make and otherwise... just dangerous.

It "jumps" alright! :)

I thought it was obvious but,... hope this clears things up.

It's just art. :D
