Son's first real knife.

oh oh my 9 yo son Peter just saw this -"hey can kids be part of this club?".

The Opinel is a great choice for a first knife. You can see his excitement in the pics. I'm sure you must be proud of his interest in knives and the willingness to take on the responsibility that comes with using them.

Sounds like you've got another knife nut on your hands. Congrats!:D

If he was asking if he can join BF, the answer can be found in the fine print at the bottom of the page. No one under the age of 13.

Nice picture. All I know is that a kid that dirty must be havin' fun.

Oh the first knife! Makes every kid feel like a man!

My first pocket knife was the boyscout knife you get from selling x amount of popcorn!

I still have it too this day!

Great pic-where is that spot out of interest?
General rule of thumb:first knife should not be longer than your arm.
'cheers
my boys have little red moras with a finger guard moulded in the handle-brilliant for the price.

Just saw this question.

That photo is of the back side of the mountains in Provo. You can just see Provo through the v in the mountains. You go up Squaw Peek Road, then turn left at the first opportunity. We hiked around for part of the day, then went up the canyon a bit and climbed Bridal Dale Falls.

The falls is a bit more crowded in the summer. Often, on the back side of these mountains you don't see anyone.

What a lucky boy (and doesn't he know it)! :)

A great choice for a young lad. Nice thread T. You must be a proud guy

very lucky boy....must be cool to have a little protege-knife nut!

I never got anything from anyone, EVER, and i know even an inexpensive opinel would have made me happy, so when i have a kid im definitely going to get him a knife from an early (responsible age), and maybe one day he can tell someone about his first knife, and maybe have sentimental value
