This is a customer design and special ordered knife that he wanted to accompany him when he heads back to Iraq. This is a pic of the profiled and ground knife. I started with 2 1/2" wide, 1/4" thick O1. It has a deep hollow grind and integral guard. The pommel end will be exposed and it will wear natural canvas micarta scales. I made the blade to perfectly fit into a Spec Ops sheath. It will also get a parkerized finish. Thanks for looking. :)

Looking good so far. Are you going to soften the edges of the guard after the handles are put on?

Just a suggestion, but I would take the corner out of the area in front of the guard. Make it rounded, so that he can choke up easier. Overall though, I like the knife.

Yep sure am Kim. I still got alot to do on it. :) Quite a project to say the least. I don't do many hollow grinds so it takes me a loooong time to grind them, especially on 1/4" stock. :D
Thanks for the suggestion Danbo, that area still needs some work.

I finished the knife this week. It has natural canvas micarta scales, parkerized finish and a Spec Ops brand sheath. The pistol is a Colt 1911 A1 45 auto. Here's a pic of the finished knife.

I have to second Greg there---that's a serious piece of workin' steel!

Man I like that a lot Scott, very meaty and worklike. Makes me want to pick it up and open an ammo crate! I bet it won't look that clean in a few weeks... ;)

Hey Brian, it just occurred to me that you and Scott make knives for very similar applications. I bet you guys are buds - or would be if you lived close enough together.
