I was not going to bring up the Others ! I just Assume he is busy with legal issues being a Lawyer I think he was...
 
Actually for me the question would be why do we even need another moderator??

In my opinon there are 2 reasons for moderators:

#1 to police the forum.

#2 to reply to threads so members are encouraged to post more, and to start new threads when things get slow so people are encouraged to participate.

In considering #1 most people in this forum behave and the occasional troll or spammer could be taken care of by Brian or brought to the attention of some of the other mods like Esav who is here a lot anyway.

In considering #2 this seems to be one of the most active and participatory forums on BF so unless the new person has a lot of ideas for new threads or posts a lot I don't see the need.

Moderation on this forum is mostly hands off. When I first started reading here Brian was gone even.

Seems like the longer I have been reading the more people have joined in and I wonder if in part it is because of the lack of anybody doing a lot of "police" work and when Brian returned he continued this trend by mainly encouraging participation and a sense of community:thumbup:

So I hope the new person will be more in that vein:thumbup::D

Have we been misbehavin' that much lately that you had to call in reinforcements?
 
A+ on HD & Spooky's Comments,I joined and Brian was out of commision and Brian jump right back into the swing of things and has Done an Excellent job....Whoever He/She is I hope things stay the same for the most part...
 
Maybe there too much knife porn? Too many stripped blades showing their shiny curves? It could get pretty steamy for a knife nut having to endure all that!

Agreed, we don't need no stinkin snitches in here:D.

Just kiddin', I say the more the merrier. Like was said by others, we don't really do anything in here that would require heavy moderation so no harm IMO.
 
i would also agree with HD and spooky.. well said guys.. :thumbup: this place seems to run just fine as it is... it's gotta be one of my favorite forums.. it's very active and highly imformative...

i would assume we need another mod, because brian has been so busy as of late... either way, i'm sure it'll be fine...

too true and too be honest, there haven't been many threads get outa hand, except for the best tools for the job threads:rolleyes::D
