A few weeks ago I ordered a Canal Street Cutlery Whittler from Sooner State knives. It arrived properly packaged in under a week. When I first saw the knife, I thought it was great. Upon further inspection, however, I discovered a few serious problems. First, and most importantly, with the large blade open, the tip and leading edge of the small blade was exposed above the scales. With the large blade open, it would have been very easy to cut a finger quite seriously, while holding the knife normally .

Secondly, the large blade was very, very difficult to open. I oiled it, but it didn't help. In addition, the finger nail slits on all blades were just too shallow to be effective. My daughter tried to open the knife, and couldn't even do it. By the end of the day I decided it should probably be returned.

Disappointed, I emailed them, and they said to mail it right in. I requested a Case Harvest Orange Canoe instead. I received the new Case (perfect in every way) in about a week, along with a refund check for the difference. SUPERB customer service. They will certainly see more business from me very soon.

Sooner State Knives is A+ in my book!

Thank you,
Scott

I agree with you, Scott.

They are very honest and reliable people.

I'd buy from them anytime.

I've bought a lot of knives from them and been very pleased with their service every time.

bought a crk green beret 7" from them. fast shipping. good communication. all in all a great buying experience!

I have bought a few knives from Ken. The first one was a mountain man that had some slight blade wobble. Contacted Ken and he took care of it on the spot. Great dealer!

I've been ordering from them for a long time. Kenny is excellent to deal with. If you need something & doesn't have it, he'll try to get it for you. One of the best mail order company around. Gary

Another bump for Sooner State Knives, I ordered a RAT-1 Folder Friday and it's in my hands today!

Ken & Nancy are great folks!

I have had good service from them too and I live outside the US.
Interesting range of knives on offer at all times as well.
My Canal St Trapper (from elsewhere) looked very nice at first too, but then I found it has pathetic snap-no danger of not opening it in this case but it could close on you:eek: blade wobble too, put me right off:barf:

I bought a discontinued Kershaw from them last year. Perfect knife and quick delivery. Actually talked with them on the phone. Great folks to do business with.

I am happy to hear you were well taken care if Scott. I too have always found the customer service at Sooner State to be first class in every way.

- best regards !

Sooner State Knives gets an A+ in my book as well. I have bought several knives from them over the years and each and every transaction has been perfect.

Thats good to know about Sooner state knives, they have some good stuff. The Canal st. knives is a different story.Ordered a small skinning knife with D2 steel when it came the end of the blade was bent.Contacted the seller ( A large mail order knife store) and they did not seem very excited to do anything about it.I sold it for a big loss.Won't buy anything else from Canal St. I don't care how much experiance they say they have.

I have order several knives in the past 2 years from them. They are one of my favorite places to do business with. Not only great customer service but also very decent prices. Most of the knives I have bought from them have been alot less than at other places. I'm about to buy another one this weekend from them.

Another big thumbs up for Kenny at Sooner State. I almost wish something would go wrong with one of my transactions, just to give me an excuse to chat with him!

Hasn't happened yet.

Also LOVE the hand-signed packing list...nice touch.

He is great tp do business with. I ordered a knife on Monday and got it today Thursday.
