This is my Soothsayer model. This slightly modified kiridashi design makes an outstanding EDC/Utility or defensive knife. If you have never tried a kiridashi, you are missing out on one of the most useful knife designs around.
The blade is made from 3/32" 440C at 59 - 60 HRC. The thin stock really allows this knife to excel as a slicer! I performed all heat treat and tempering operations. The blade features a very fine, non reflective matte finish.
The handle is exceptionally comfortable in either standard or reverse grip. The wrap is nylon and is impregnated with epoxy to prevent unraveling or moisture retention. The under wrap is pure copper that has been textured. The menuki is a large dragon.
The knife is ground with a chisel hollow grind for a right hand user. I have also ground a swedge along the spine that greatly aids penetration. The knife is extremely sharp. Excellent edge geometry. This will make someone a very nice carry blade.
